I’m interested to know how your National Society supports staff and volunteers. I want to inspire my National Society by telling them what others offer. My National Society provides 4 things: 1-4 sessions per year with a counsellor, mandatory de-briefing if you are involved in a critical incident, access to Headspace (which I think all NS received after COVID) and occasional (once a year) stress reduction seminars in one language only. I’m not looking for comparison, just inspiration based on what your National Society does. Thanks!
The Danish Red Cross, the Netherlands Red Cross, IFRC and the IFRC PS Centre submitted an open pledge on Psychological First Aid for All during the 33rd International Conference, aiming to “support the scaling up of global capacity for PFA as a means to prevent an alleviate mental health and psychosocial needs and promote individual and community resilience”.
The pledge is open for signature until 31 December 2020
You are welcome to contact the PS Centre with any inquiries about signing the pledge: chtho@rodekors.dk
